Citizen Ride-Alongs 2 Years, 1 Month ago
|
|

We've recently moved back to Hudsonville from Arizona. While in Chandler, AZ, we were involved in Beat Meetings for the area we lived in and participated in their Citizen Ride Along program. Do you have such a program in the Georgetown Township/Hudsonville area? If so, where does one apply?

Gretchen,
If you live in Hudsonville city I would recommend checking with Sgt Bob Tease in the Hudsonville City Office of the Sheriff's Department. If you live in the Township, please contact our Head Quarters at 738-4000, ext 1 and request to speak with Sgt Jon Ditmar or Lt Lee Hoeksema.
Welcome back to West Michigan!

Another question - My husband served on the Chandler Citizen Policing Advisory Board which was made up of citizens (members at large & members representing Beats) with one police advisor. Is there such a committee here that might be looking for members?

To my knowledge the Sheriff's Office does not have anything similar to that. However, your local city, township or neighborhood may, and I think it is a great idea. I would suggest looking into it with your local government and recommending they start such a program if one is not already setup.
