What do you guys think our cruisers need. I think that Lt. Kempker does a great job considering the number of cars that we have. And after this group of cars are replaced, we are supposedly going to always have cars w/ less than 100k miles.

I would like to see:

1. snow tires
2. get rid of the spare tire in the trunk (give the spares to wrecker svcs and have them change them .. no chance of back injuries, more room in trunk, etc..)
3. Patrol rifles.
4. The rest of the civil disorder gear to complete the stuff we have.
5. Spike strips (finally here)

What do you think we should ask for??

I agree with smitty however i would have to add.....MORE FREAKING LEG ROOM

I agree E. Lt Kempker does a hell of a job w/as many cars we have and the restraints the Admin puts on him. It is a much bigger job than we think. I am very happy that we finally are getting spike strips. Long time coming...Maybe, just maybe, we will get patrol rifles too. That would be smart. As for the riot gear, had to laugh when "Lt" Hoeksema had me try on the "riot" gear. I asked him when we were getting the pads,etc...he said it didnt look like we would. Once again, half a$$ed. What do ya do??

Thought of something else.

1) Jail photos via MCT (rumored to be happening soon though for the district cars and e-units) HPD has them in their cars already. This is another big step for us though that is being pushed for by supervisors. Twp cars will have them also as long as the Twps pick up the cost.

I know I'm not in a crusier anymore, but I think the booking photos are a must on the mct. Takes the guessing out of a traffic stop with a jackass who is lying about who they are...I don't think we will se internet via mct, just my opinion.
