Being a Reserve for the past 5 years, and a newly appointed squad leader I would like some honest input from the full time road deputies.

A - Do you believe the Reserves that ride are an assets?

B - Are the full time deputies that like having riders previous Reserves themselves?

C - Should there be a better training program for the Reserves for riding in a patrol car? (Like the FTO program for new hires)

I have a interest in make the Reserve program as good as it can be by addressing issues before they become issues.

Absolutely, It is definitely nice to have an extra set of eyes and hands out there.

No, I never was.

Absolutely, there really should be something more formalized. HPD has a great training program that we could model ours after.

I have to ask Jones, I have been trying to schedule some new hires with ride a longs and I was suprised at how many Full Timers don't return my calls, which I can only assume they aren't interested in having someone in their car with them.

We could always use extra help in booking, and who knows, you could watch someone eat their own poop!
