Grand Rapids Officer Robert Kozminski According to an article in the  Grand Rapids Press, Grand Rapids Police Chief Harry Dolan has begun the process of analyzing the shooting death of Officer Robert Kozminski to see what we could do better in the future to prevent tragic Officer deaths like his.

 From the article:

"I don't know of anything Officer Kozminski could have done," he said, in his first extensive interview since the officer's slaying outside VanVels' home, 1233 Emerald Ave. NE.

I was so impressed by the service, the incredible outpouring of support for Officer Kozminski and his family and the great job the local media did with coverage of the event that I sat down this weekend and put together a video of images from WoodTV8, WZZM13 and the Grand Rapids Press. Thank you for doing your part to honor a fallen hero.

Officer Robert Kozminski

Officer Robert Kozminski laid to rest

Grand Rapids Police Department Officer Robert "Bobby" Kozminski was laid to rest today at Holy Cross Cemetery in Grand Rapids.

If you were unable to make it to the funeral or interment I have included links to pictures, audio and video segments available from local news outlets and here. I found the words and emotional outpour of GRPD Chief Harry Dolan particularly moving.

Once again, we will continue to hold Officer Kozminski, his family and the Grand Rapids Police Department in our thoughts and prayers.
