DEPUTY DAVID LEE STEENWYK SCHOLARSHIP

 

The $4,000.00 scholarship will be available to 2007/08 high school seniors. The application will be available at any Ottawa County high school or at this web site. The applications need to be returned by February 16th, 2008.

Qualifications: This scholarship is open to Ottawa County high school seniors who are accepted into a two or four year college or university. The student must major in criminal justice. The scholarship is renewable up to four years. Student must show proof of major and maintain a 3.0 GPA in order to be eligible to renew scholarship. Applicants must fill out entire application and provide an essay on why he/she are applying for the scholarship, career plans, general personal background, and any other information the applicant feels is important. Each application will be reviewed by a five person committee made up of deputies in the Ottawa County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. The committee will select three finalists and submit the names and applications to the executive board of the Ottawa County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. The executive board will award the scholarship from the three finalists. Applicants must provide proof of high school GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and acceptance letter from college.
