This afternoon Chief Harry Dolan of GRPD relayed that Officer Robert Kozminski, 29 years old and a seven year veteran Officer with GRPD, was killed. Dolan said in a press conference that "Kozminski walked toward the back of the house and a man was "lying in wait in the garage." Kozminski was ambushed, "shot through the glass portion of the closed garage door."

Chief Dolan said he was "very proud" that Kozminski "gave his life to protect a family." Kozminski, a seven-year police veteran, is survived by his three-year-old daughter and his parents. 

Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Kozminski, his family and GRPD.
