The Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Michigan (DSAM) is pleased to provide you with information about Michigan’s only statewide organization dedicated to protecting the interests of sheriff’s department employees. Since 1978 DSAM has successfully protected the interests of sheriff’s department employees at the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of state government. Although we have had success, during these tough budget times we cannot rest on our laurels. Like many public employees, public safety officers are affected by the decisions of elected officials and state bureaucrats. Continued advancement of workplace conditions, training and job skills, and protecting our budgets requires dialogue with decision makers in Lansing.
