board for the firstone hundred (100) regular members within that district. A second district The district representatives from each respective vice presidential area elect their vice president. The president, treasurer, secretary, and sergeant-at-arms are elected at-large by members of the executive board. MEMBERSHIP FEES Can you afford the price of one energy drink or a cup of coffee per month to join DSAM? That's right, for $1.66 per month ($20.00 per year) you can become a member of the state's only organization dedicated to advancing and protecting your career. If your group joins in mass you will receive a discounted group membership rate of $15.00 per year per member. Effective representation in Lansing on issues critical to law enforcement, local corrections, and emergency dispatchers could not come at a lower price. Head over to the Deputy Sheriff's Association of Michigan website to become a member! Full membership in DSAM is open to all employees of a Michigan sheriff's department including part time, seasonal, reserve officers and those employees who have retired under honorable conditions. You will receive a membership card and window decals when you become a member. A sheriff, undersheriff, chief deputy, and members of the public may hold a supporting membership status at a cost of $20.00 per year. DSAM is a unique organization from the standpoint that we speak with one voice, working toward our common goals. We have no "rank structure" so to speak. Therefore, a patrol officer or local corrections officer has equal footing with any supervisor within our organization and on our executive board. |
